About this listing
What We Love
Rising from the rugged Tasmanian landscape the clean lines and metal facade of this modern annexe create a contemporary yet warm structure. Clean lines meet at the floor to ceiling windows, connecting this home to nature from every aspect, and the minimal interior is impeccably designed to deliver the best in wabi-sabi living.
This contemporary studio offers a pristine and perfect escape into natural Snug living. The open-plan interior of this home delivers a rejuvenating escape. The kitchen has the essentials to prepare a leisurely brunch with local produce picked up in the village, and the sunken lounge space offers a designer seating area, perfect for soaking up the view. Speaking of soaking, the jewel of this home is the deep outdoor bathtub. Relax in style letting the wind gently waft through your hair as you watch the sunset from the deep tub alfresco. Even your slumber has been meticulously designed. A King bed is positioned to overlook your stunning views, or, if coming with children, they can transport themselves to Japan in the Sunken tatami children’s bed, with fitted tatami mattresses and a sense of eastern serenity.
As revitalising as its quiet surroundings, this annexe perfectly echoes the alternative lifestyle found in Snug itself. Sparsely populated and extremely beautiful, the main pull of Snug is nature. There are plenty of jaw-dropping hikes and unmissable excursions (Bruny Island is a day trip with taking, and Snug Falls offers year-round beauty). Snug Beach is just waiting to be explored, offering very calm waters, perfect for swimming and kayaks - not to mention the spectacular sunsets!
You’re only 30 minutes from Hobart, an easy drive or bus. With its commitment to produce-driven dining, weekly markets and food experiences, you can expect a long and varied list of top places to eat in Hobart. Coffee fiends will be satiated, Hobart is a mecca when it comes to cafes. Nightlife is unbeatable too, as there are many Hobart bars and boundary-pushing distilleries scattered throughout the city. Culture vultures won’t be disappointed, as you’re primed for a visit to the wonderful MONA art gallery, and if you’re visiting at the right time of year, the Dark Mofo festival, to experience the best in art, culture and cuisine.
