What We Love
Positioned on the ground floor of a boutique Paddington building, this three-bedroom apartment blends considered design with relaxed coastal styling, where original hardwood floors, a private courtyard and light-filled interiors come together to create something that feels far more generous than its footprint suggests.
Step inside and the apartment opens immediately into a sun-filled living and dining area where original hardwood floors run the full length of the home. White shaker kitchen cabinetry lines the interior wall, paired with stone benchtops, a stainless steel oven and cooktop, integrated dishwasher and a Nespresso machine ready to go. A dining table for four sits comfortably between the kitchen and the living zone, while a pale timber entertainment unit with cane panel doors anchors the lounge. The whole back wall disappears entirely when you slide open the bifold doors, extending the living space out onto a private courtyard with timber decking, afternoon sun and a canopy of bamboo softening the boundary walls.
The main bedroom is a quietly beautiful room with white walls, warm lamplight from bedside tables on either side, a plush king bed dressed in linen and abstract art hung above the headboard. The second bedroom features a comfortable queen bed, while the third room works beautifully as a sleep out or reading nook with a full-sized single daybed surrounded by wide plantation shuttered windows looking into the garden greenery. The bathroom is clean and compact with a bath, overhead rain shower, glass screen and chrome tapware, with the European laundry tucked neatly behind a closed door alongside it.
Paddington is one of Sydney's most beloved inner suburbs, and Stewart Street sits right in the thick of it, Victorian terraces, independent boutiques, gallery corners and the weekly Saturday markets at Uniting Church all within easy reach. Oxford Street is a short stroll from the front door, Centennial Parklands begins just minutes away on foot, and both Bondi Beach and the Sydney CBD are comfortably under 20 minutes by bus.

The Neighbourhood
- Paddington Living Paddington holds onto its village character through European-style streets where Victorian terraces house independent boutiques, galleries and well-worn corner shops. Every Saturday, Paddington Markets take over the grounds of Uniting Church, drawing locals and visitors through stalls of vintage clothing, handmade jewellery and one-off artisan homewares. Moore Park stretches along the neighbourhood's eastern edge while Oxford Street runs through the heart of it all, its wide footpaths shifting with the seasons yet consistently delivering the independent culture that defines the area.
- Café & Dining JOZO anchors a corner position that has become a genuine neighbourhood institution, the kind of coffee spot where the queue moves just fast enough to justify the wait. Morris draws weekend crowds with a seasonally shifting brunch menu, while Il Baretto keeps things deliberately compact, handmade pasta in a small dining room where limited seating only adds to the occasion. 10 William St takes a different approach with sharing plates and a serious wine list, and for something more considered, Ursula's Paddington handles special occasions with an intimate setting and tightly edited menus that earn their advance bookings.
- Parks & Arts Moore Park offers multiple entry points for morning runs, with circuits that extend naturally into Centennial Park's broader network of paths and open lawns. The cultural stretch of Oxford Street runs west toward Darlinghurst, where independent cinemas and theatre venues program work that sits consistently outside the mainstream. Small galleries have settled into terrace conversions throughout the neighbourhood, their exhibitions rotating monthly alongside the Art Gallery of New South Wales a short distance away in the Domain.
- Day Trips Sydney CBD lies just 15 minutes west, where the harbour foreshore delivers the Opera House, Harbour Bridge and a ferry network that turns the daily commute into something worth looking forward to. The Bondi to Coogee coastal walk covers six kilometres of clifftop path, moving between sweeping Pacific views and descents into beaches, rock pools and sheltered bays, each with its own distinct character. An early start rewards walkers with the best light and the calmest conditions, with the Royal National Park an hour south and the Blue Mountains an hour and a half west for those chasing a full-day escape.
Getting Around
- Public transport: Frequent bus services on Oxford Street — including routes 333, 352 and 440 — provide direct connections to the Sydney CBD, Circular Quay, Bondi Beach and Bondi Junction. The nearest light rail stop at Surry Hills is approximately an 11-minute walk, connecting to Central Station, Darling Harbour and the inner west. Kings Cross Station (T4 line) is around a 12-minute walk for broader rail access across the network.
- Uber: Rideshare services are readily available throughout Paddington, making it quick and convenient to get around at any time of day or night.
- Car share (GoGet): We recommend GoGet as a hassle-free alternative to bringing your own car. This property does not include parking, and street parking in Paddington is limited. GoGet has multiple dedicated bays on surrounding streets and throughout the neighbourhood. Cars can be hired by the hour or day, fuel included, with no upfront deposit. Simply sign up via the app and you're on your way.
