Preventing Violence
L’Abode Accommodation was built by women, for a guest experience that feels like home. But for too many women in Australia, home is the most dangerous place they can be. Every four days, a woman is murdered in Australia. Domestic and family violence is the single largest driver of homelessness for women in this country. And one in four people killed in domestic violence incidents in 2024 was a child.
We can’t sit with those numbers and do nothing.
That’s why L’Abode Accommodation has formalised a Corporate Social Responsibility programme, with the Women’s and Girls’ Emergency Centre (WAGEC) as our founding partner. WAGEC has been on the frontline of this crisis in Sydney for more than four decades, providing safe accommodation, trauma-informed support and long-term recovery programmes for women and children. Their work changes lives. Our role is to help fund more of it.
We’ve built four contribution streams.
Together, they turn a stay, a sign-up, or a single click into real funding for women and children at WAGEC’s refuges.
L’Abode Accommodation contributes 5% of revenue from Home Remedy maintenance and repair services into the same pool. The team behind the homes is part of the giving too.
Anyone, guest, owner or member of the public, can contribute any amount at any time, directly through our dedicated donation page. Tax-deductible receipts are issued by WAGEC.
WAGEC operates 11 sites across Sydney, including five refuges, supporting more than 2,200 women and children every year. They provide over 61,000 bed nights of safe accommodation annually. Their programmes span crisis response, children’s trauma recovery, employment mentoring and primary prevention education.
